Nuke Matrix H.A.R.P.Y. build retrospective

Another musume that I acquired on the good word of ZakuAurelius, this is my 2nd finished build of 2023.

The kit is almost entirely made out of ABS plastic (apart from the hair), though while cutting and sanding it etc I could swear it felt more like PS. There are MANY MANY small parts, and a lot of those have very small pegs that facilitate movement gimmicks, so be sure to mask those off when painting!

For a musume kit, there are practically no seam lines, apart from the usual shoulders and thighs. If you are really pedantic there’s some on the machine pistols and the funnels, but I feel you can overlook those.

Assembly of the wings also kind of caught me off guard, the manual gives you precise placement of the gears to the spoke which you need to line up exactly. Other than the small parts my only other gripe is that you can only choose to build one option of the lower torso despite having many options. It would’ve only taken about 6 or so extra parts to be able to have both options :S

Anyway this could be a good kit for mecha builders who are looking to do a musume kit, if you really wish to, the fully armoured form only has the thighs for exposed skin.

Painting

Dark Blue – White primer, followed by Mr Color Titans Blue (the blue-ish one) + tiny bit of purple. Added white for highlights. I felt this was a bit too bright still so I went back and postshaded with original mix + some Red. I think this is my go-to colour for the Titans Blue/Huckebein

Metallic Blue – Mixture of Zurc 3K Dark Violet + 2K Super Fine Dark Blue, followed by a coat of Zurc Event Horizon. (some parts I might’ve also used SMS Black Hole on top)

Metallic Highlight – Mr Color GX Ueno black gloss coat, followed by SMS Black Hole.

Metal colour – Gloss coat of Mr Color GX Ueno Black, followed by Mr Super Metallic Iron + Mr Color GX Ueno Black.

Hair – Azure Blue + bit of Mr Color GX Cool White used to shade the shadowy areas, then Cool White + bit of Azure Blue for rest of the hair.
